The app becomes more valuable when your library feels obvious to scan.
Journal Mate gives you a few simple tools that work best together:
- clear journal titles;
- pinned journals for the material you reach for often;
- archive for older or less active journals;
- search across titles, notes, and recognized text.
The goal is not to build a complicated filing system. The goal is to remove hesitation when you need something later.
A good rule of thumb:
- Pin what is active now.
- Leave in the main library what is still useful but not daily.
- Archive what you want to keep without keeping it in the way.
If a journal starts to hold unrelated material, split it. If several journals all support one project, rename them so the relationship is obvious from the list view.
That small amount of maintenance keeps the library calm, which is the whole point.
