Journal Mate is built to reduce the friction between finding something important and saving it properly.
You can fill your library from a few different sources:
- scan paper pages with the camera or document scanner flow;
- import screenshots and saved images from Photos;
- bring in PDFs and other files from Files or share actions where supported.
The key is consistency. If pages that belong together always land in the same journal, the app stays calmer as your archive grows.
A few practical habits help:
- import related material in small batches instead of dumping everything at once;
- title journals by topic or source, not by vague dates alone;
- review OCR or AI-generated metadata before relying on it;
- pin journals that you revisit weekly so they stay near the top.
Journal Mate does not need to hold everything you have ever saved. It works best when it holds the pages you actually want to find again.
